Support Meetings

When: Support Meetings are every third Thursday of the month, September through May.

Location: 2nd floor conference room at Lakeshore CAP 702 State St. Manitowoc WI 54220.

Time: 6:30-8:00 p.m.

The support meetings are free and open to the public, family members, educators or other providers, or anyone wishing to learn more about autism and to support families and individuals with autism in our Lakeshore area.  Some meetings have speakers to discuss specific topics revolving around autism and other meetings are open topic nights where everyone can come and listen or participate with each other.  Childcare is provided during each meeting.

Friendship Group

The friendship group is a socialization group for teens and young adults on the autism spectrum.  The friendship group meets to promote social and friendship skills through formal and informal activities.  It also gives the teens and young adults time to hang out with peers who have common interests.  We also offer several outside activities each year such as movie nights, bowling, and mini-golf.  The friendship group does do some fundraising events throughout the year as well to raise money for their group to attend the annual ASW conference each year.  The group always has adult supervision and new members are always welcome.

The friendship group meets at the same time and location as the Support Meetings.  See above.

ASL is always looking for folks who would like to become a part of our amazing group. We welcome community members who may be interested in volunteering, as well as those seeking support for family members or themselves.
